1.
The
fantastic progress being made on the Tileagd Community Complex
with Medical Centre, Sports Gymnasium and Church all well on target
for the Grand Opening – June 7th/8th 2008.
2. New
Missionaries – Andy & Jutta – joining Smiles full-time from May 11th.
3. Decisions
in Tileagd for Baptism in June.
4.
All the Fund-Raising events taking
place in May and over the summer for support of Smiles projects.
5. The
amazing response to Mission Trips for the year ahead and the
impact they are having on the Smiles projects in Romania. Praise and
Thanks for 502 already reserved for 2008.
6. The
success of launching the new Sports Project and the integration
being achieved between disabled and able bodied, Roma and Romanian
people.
7. The
work in Gepiu – for Catalin & Lavinia Bakai and the tremendous
start to the work they are achieving.
8. The
opportunity for so many children to enjoy the safety and loving
environment of the Cihei Children’s Centre.
9. The
successful first visit to Romania of the High Sheriff Project
for young people who have lived in Care and the desire to plan another
visit for another group in January ‘09.
10.
The wonderful generosity of all the
Donors supporting the work of Smiles.
Please pray for ...
1.
The
continuing work in Construction of the Complex Phase 2 and
the funds needed to see completion by June 2008. Approximately
£38,682 / $77,364 is required and only God can provide through His
faithful and obedient people.
2.
The Educational Challenge in May being held in Romania – 20
already booked.
3.
The Tileagd Choir – as we consider further tours of the
United Kingdom
and
America
during 2008/9 sharing the good news of all God is doing through their
School and Community.
4.
The work in Salard – that through our expression of love to
help an impoverished community – they might discover the Greatest Love
of all.
5.
A successful Appeal for Panna Szalo’s Heart Operations.
6.
The tremendous support that The Smiles Foundation
receives each month. That people will continue to be generous in their
support and that many more will join the thousands already supporting.
7.
The Trustees, Staff and Volunteers of Smiles who work so hard
day to day to serve God and those we help in Romania.
8.
The Missionaries – who respond to God’s Call – leaving Home,
Family and Friends. Pray especially for their Health & Strength –
physically, emotionally and spiritually.
9.
The Staff changes in the UK Office and Romanian projects – that
God will enable the new people to take over the responsibilities and
take the work to the next level.
10.
That
God will reveal Himself to the 1,300 + people we serve in His Name
every day in Romania – that through the projects you support, people
may come to know the One, True, Living God.
Our prayer is to put Smiles on faces in
the Name of Christ.
To help people, especially children, to know
they are loved and not forgotten whatever their circumstances.
To share from the bounty God has blessed us with, with those in need
of basic shelter, food and love.
