My name is Sarah Urwin and I'm from Leeds, England.

I am blessed to have been brought up in a Christian family, and have
never known a time when I didn't believe in the truth of the gospel.
I first visited Romania in the summer of 2002, and immediately fell
in love with this country. Over the next two years, amidst several
visits to Romania, and working part time for The Smiles Foundation
in the English office, God worked in my heart - and by the time I
graduated from University I knew that God was calling me to be in
Romania full time. Now I serve God through Smiles as a Mission Trip
Representative, helping with the organisation and logistics of the
300+ people visiting Romania with Smiles each year. For the limited
time each year we have no Mission Trips, I run the
Children's Outreach program.

My name is Linda Rudderforth, and I am from Frederick, Maryland.
I was asked to write my testimony so
you would be able to get to know me a little better. I can only say
that the Lord has placed on my heart that it is not important for
people to know about my past, but it is important that they know
about my present and future. Jesus speaks to us all in so many
different ways, I heard him calling when Nia spoke at our church a
few years ago. It wasn’t what she said, but how she said it that
told my spirit that the Lord was calling me.
I could hear His compassion and call for mercy for His people. I
could feel the presence of such sorrow and despair, and my heart
wept. My Lord told me then that I would be going to Romania. Two
years passed with prayer and soul searching because I did not want
to go and have it be about me. When He knew that I was ready, He
opened the doors and I walked through. I have no testimony about
myself, because this road does not lead to me, but to Him.
My Lord, Jesus Christ is the only testimony that I have and want.
Why am I in
Romania, because that is where God told me to Go.

Margaret Biddulph, Essex, England
I became a Christian 40 years ago.
I married, had two beautiful daughters… and divorced!
It seemed like the end. I was responsible for seeing my daughters
through University BUT God didn’t forget my dreams.
In January 2005 I retired from teaching with the Traveller Education
Service in Essex and came to Romania to work with more Gypsies!
I have
written a Ciurari alphabet book for the Nursery and for the women’s
literacy classes. God speaks Ciuari! I have recorded some of their
stories and poems. The newest shared venture is a craft workshop. For the first time ever a group of women will be earning their own
money!
God in Christ has a particular love for each particular person.
