Established to make a Smile … |

|
During April, the guests of our first Mission Trip in 2007 established the importance a personal visit can make. People who had heard the stories, seen the pictures, watched the video were now experiencing the reality first-hand. Meeting the families, playing with the kids, painting the houses and delivering the food support – suddenly it all seemed very real and then Making a Difference meant the world. Don’t miss experiencing the same emotion from Making a Difference. Come on a Smiles Mission Trip and experience the Best of Mission Trip’s that really Make a Difference – to your life and those you serve! Also in April, two of our Special Advisors from the UK Executive SOFA team were in Romania. Dave Clark for Construction worked extensively with Smiles Engineer, Frank Fira to prepare the arrangements for beginning construction on Phase 2 of the Tileagd Community Complex. They also worked on plans for the new development of the Smiles Nursing Home and Disabled Children’s Centre anticipated to be built at the Cihei site next year. Stephen Woodward for Education spent valuable time at the School & Nursery in Tileagd and the Day Centre in Gepiu. Tremendous progress is being made in our Educational programmes and we’re excited at the response to the Smiles Educational Challenge scheduled for May 27th – 31st with delegates now enrolled from UK and USA. Having enjoyed a beautiful Spring in Romania – we were able to establish the new Horticultural project in Gepiu with help from missionary Brian Tarr, who undertook installation responsibility of our wonderful new Green House Poly Tunnels. Horticultural adviser, Paul Jeanes couldn’t be in Romania during April, but his daughter Emma was and through the benefit of e-mail, Skype and mobile phone –the site was prepared, installed and finished in 4 days! Immediately, plants and seeds were being sown. There continues to be so much happening we often wonder how it all holds together. We conclude – your support and prayers are at the core of the success, so please don’t stop. We are preparing for a very busy summer with so much to achieve and hundreds of visitors to accommodate and organise. We hope to continue finding time to keep you informed with our monthly updates. If we don’t manage it by the first of each month, please forgive us in advance. It will be entirely due to being so involved with the work on the ground and we know you wouldn’t want us to overlook that!!
Please keep up your support.
These are crucial times of activity and development. |
