                                                                                    August 2007
Dear Friends
Greetings from a very busy Romanian Smiles office, where so much is happening – some planned and other never thought of – either way, it is creating the busiest summer this Chief Executive has ever known!

We knew with over 230 Mission Trip guests this summer, it was going to get busy. The last team of July had 48 in the team including folk from Georgia & Frederick in the USA along with England, Scotland and Northern Ireland. An incredible mix of cultures, backgrounds and experience – to some extent, even language – yet the team worked wonderfully together to achieve some remarkable progress during their visit. Catch some of the pictures on our Summer Mission Trip Gallery.

Another 51 arrive this Saturday which we are excited about. Summer in Romania is always a great opportunity for Smiles to get on with important projects. 2007 will be the best year yet. There are so many project updates and items of news, we’re listing them here and you can check them out, each one that interests you, as time permits.

  1. Mission Trip Reports for July
  2. Progress on the Tileagd Community Complex – Phase 2
  3. New Well with fresh water in Tileagd Gypsy Community
  4. Romelica in Salonta is finally re-housed.
  5. New Community Reached in Salard with Hope for the future
  6. The Importance of Church Foundations
  7. Day of Kindness twins Bromsgrove (Worcs) with Cihei (Romania)
  8. Choir Rehearsing & Recording new songs and dance for Sept/Oct UK tour.
  9. Irish & Romanian Media frenzy about Gypsies in Dublin puts Smiles in the spotlight.
  10. New Prayer & Praise update for your personal use

We could go on, but we’ll leave the rest for next month, although so much is likely to happen in August, we’ll be heading for Christmas before we catch up!

Best way not to miss out – is to Come Out – Visit Romania on a Smiles Mission Trip.

October/November is filling up but still space and don’t forget December 8th – 22nd for 7 or 14 days starting 8th or 15th. Call the office for information now or check on line. Also, having had so many weeks full this summer and having to turn many people down for a trip, make plans now for next summer and book early.

Our support appeal this month is for the Tileagd Community Complex Phase 2 construction.

You can check the web-site to see the progress being made with the initial construction plan.

A £150,000 / $300,000 contract. We are currently just £37,500 / $75,000 short on the contractual commitment due by September 14th. Please support our ‘act of faith’ in building this Church and the Medical & Sports facilities that will bring Glory and Honour to His Name.

Use PayPal on site – Call the office to use Visa/Mastercard or mail your gift today to your Smiles office:
