April 2007
Dear Friends
It’s been a frantically busy month, hence we can
hardly believe a new update is due, but it is good to know so many of you are
interested in the work and to upholding it in prayer as well as those
involved, in the challenge, in the offices and on the front-line.
Lots of exciting things to share, not least this month
the news and Congratulations to our Trustee
Nia, who gave birth to Joshua Richard Price, 7lb 2oz, on March 21st.
Mother and baby are well and we wish them God’s
Blessing for the future.
March has been particularly busy with us holding
Smiles Conferences in England, Scotland and
Northern Ireland. The first time we went
regional which was a good decision having increased attendees significantly
to more than double our usual Conference held just in England in previous
years. It was wonderful to have so many special guests from Romania speaking
at the Conferences:
Jeni, Marius &
Otilia attended England
Georgi,
Angela & Dana attended Scotland & Northern
Ireland
Of course Maria attended all Conferences to keep an
eye on her Romanian team!
Thank you to those who attended the Conferences and made the events such a
success.
We are excited by the response to our
Educational Challenge in May.
We have teachers from England and Scotland
already on-board. We hope to soon have the entire United Kingdom represented
and maybe one or two from America.
Please share this fantastic opportunity for teachers to make the trip.
Just £150 / $300 plus air-flight.
Maybe they could do the Challenge and then stay on for
the first of our summer Mission Trips beginning June 2nd.
Now
there‘s a thought!
Next week we begin our
2007 Mission Trip season with the first
trip starting April 7th. We have so many fantastic projects for
Mission Trippers to work on this year.
The May 5th trip is on a Special Price Reduction
so that could be a great opportunity not to miss. Many
of the Summer Trips are now full and others getting close to full so give
the office a call to talk through how you can get involved in this
Life Changing Experience.
As we turn the month – April 4th is a
special day for Smiles Romania. We welcome 2 new missionaries to the work of
Smiles in the field.
Wendy Justice
– a nurse and teacher who will work with the Medical
team, the School and at the Cihei Children’s Centre.
Brian Tarr
– a qualified electrician and who will work with our
Construction team.
We are so thankful to Wendy and Brian for their commitment to Smiles and
their refreshing servant spirit for teamwork and focus on what Smiles is
doing with God’s Power for so many in need of His Love.
Pray for them as they settle into life in Cihei and
around our projects.
That should be enough to
go on with for now. We look forward to keeping in touch and hope to see you
in Romania or on our travels.
Thank you for your support.
God Bless
